Dr. Appt recap

The baby at 19 weeks

Well, we went to the doctor in Dallas on Monday. He was so nice and did an excellant job answering all of our questions. He did an ultrasound and at this point everything looks great! At this time, we still don't know if this baby has NAIT. We are waiting on my blood tests to come back. Thursday (tomorrow) will be two weeks so we hope to see the results soon.

We did find out our plan of action if this baby does have NAIT. I will most likely get IV doses of IVIG every week along with steroids to lessen the antibodies that attack the baby's platelets. We will also do an amnio around 36 or 37 weeks to make sure the babies lungs are ready and they'll deliver the baby by c-section.

There is still a chance that this baby doesn't have NAIT....this is what we're praying for! On another note, we did find out the gender, but we're not spilling until next week. That is when my brother has his 8th grade graduation. I'm going to make a cake and it will be either pink or blue. My family will then know the gender based on the color of the cake. We're really excited because my parents, brother, and both sets of grandparents are going to be there!
